AUTHORS BIOGRAPHY



Born in Rijeka, Croatia (1978). Studied Economics at the Universities of Rijeka (Croatia)(B.Sc.) and University of Ljubljana (Slovenia) (M.Sc.). Awarded Ph.D. in Economics at University of Ljubljana, Slovenia (2007).

Current appointment: Faculty of Economics Rijeka, Assistant professor of Finance and scientific associate.

Publications: Published over fifty scientific papers in international and domestic financial journals and a scientific book.

Research interests: Volatility Forecasting, Risk Management and Energy Economics.

Courses: Risk Management, Banking, Bank Management, Foreign Exchange Management and International Insurance.

Consultant for a number of internationally active financial institutions in the field of risk management. Holder of training courses in risk management for financial institutions and banking regulators. Lecturer at specialized education programs for pension funds managers in association with the Financial Services Supervisory Agency. Researcher on several scientific projects supported by the European Union and Republic of Croatia.

Court interpreter for English and German language and certified EU funds manager. Lecturer and coordinator of training seminars organised by the Chair Jean Monnet and European Commission.

Invited speaker and chairman of numerous international conferences in the field of finance and risk management organized by the central banks and/or the private sector. Received a number of important academic awards and acknowledgments for his work on modern risk management and portfolio optimization in transition markets.

Member of the Editorial Board - Qualitative Research in Financial Markets (Emerald) and Journal of Business and Economics. Member of Scientific Society of Economists and American Finance Association.
